The upcoming World Health Assembly 2025, set to convene in Geneva, Switzerland, from May 19 to May 27, promises to spotlight critical health issues, including the escalating concern of sand and dust storms (SDS).

As the decision-making arm of the World Health Organization (WHO), the assembly gathers delegations from all WHO Member States to deliberate on vital health policies, appoint the Director-General, and oversee financial strategies.

This year, in alignment with the United Nations Decade on Combating Sand and Dust Storms, the assembly will prioritize the impact of SDS on human health.

Attendees will explore innovative solutions and strategies to mitigate the adverse effects of these environmental phenomena, marking a significant step forward in global health and environmental protection.
