The XII International Rangeland Congress (IRC), a premier event for professionals and enthusiasts in rangeland management, is scheduled to take place from June 2-6, 2025, at the Adelaide Convention Centre in Adelaide, Australia. Organized by the Australian Rangeland Society in conjunction with the International Rangeland Congress Continuing Committee, this gathering aims to address the challenges and opportunities faced by rangelands and pastoral systems worldwide.

Under the theme “Working Together for our Global Rangelands Future,” the congress will emphasize the importance of valuing rangelands and pastoral systems for their societal contributions. It will focus on fostering co-design, partnerships, and incorporating traditional knowledge to achieve sustainable and enduring rangeland outcomes. Participants will engage in meaningful discussions, share insights, and explore innovative solutions to ensure the future of rangelands.

The congress will feature a diverse program, including oral presentations, poster sessions, workshops, and pre- and post-congress tours. Delegates will have the opportunity to connect with fellow professionals, celebrate achievements in the field, and experience Australia’s vast rangelands through exciting tours. The event will also leverage social media, livestreaming, interactive Q&A sessions, and recorded content to facilitate global participation and engagement.

One of the highlights of the IRC 2025 is the recognition and involvement of First Nations peoples and pastoralists from Australia and around the world. Their stewardship of the land and invaluable contributions to rangeland management will be celebrated and acknowledged throughout the event.
