In a demonstration of solidarity, global leaders will gather with Sir Keir Starmer and Volodymyr Zelenskyy to discuss the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and address pressing security concerns. This show of support follows a heated encounter between Zelenskyy and former U.S. President Donald Trump, highlighting the international community’s commitment to Ukraine’s future.

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has reiterated his steadfast support for Ukraine, emphasizing the critical juncture in the war. “We are at a turning point,” Starmer declared ahead of a significant meeting with world leaders today.

On Saturday, Starmer welcomed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Downing Street, where they signed a new loan agreement to aid Ukraine’s efforts in the conflict. This meeting came on the heels of a contentious exchange between Zelenskyy and Trump at the Oval Office on Friday.

Today, Sir Keir and President Zelenskyy will be joined by a host of international leaders in London for a summit focused on Ukraine and security. The day’s agenda will commence with Sir Keir meeting Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, followed by discussions with French President Emmanuel Macron and leaders from Germany, Denmark, Norway, Poland, Canada, Finland, and Romania.

EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, and Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan are also expected to attend the summit.

While the United States leads efforts to broker a peace deal with Russia, Sir Keir aims to position Europe as a key player in leading peacekeeping initiatives should an agreement be reached.
