Russell Peters is bringing his Relax World Tour to New Zealand! Named one of Rolling Stone’s 50 Best Comics of All Time.
Russell began his stand-up journey at nineteen in Toronto. For the next fifteen years, he perfected his craft in clubs across Canada and the UK. His big break came in 2004 with the CTV “Comedy Now!” special, leading him to be the first comedian to sell out Toronto’s Air Canada Centre in 2007. Since then, he has set attendance records at major venues like Madison Square Garden, The Sydney Opera House, and London’s O2 Arena, where he broke the UK’s record for the highest number of tickets sold for a comedy show.

Russell’s tours have been featured in successful specials on Showtime and Comedy Central, including “Outsourced” (2006), “Red, White and Brown” (2008), and “The Green Card Tour” (2010). In 2013, he made history as the first comedian to create a Netflix Original Comedy Special. His Deported World Tour reached over 400,000 fans in 40 cities across 20 countries, ending with the Amazon Prime special “Russell Peters Deported” in January 2020. Now, he’s back on the road with his Act Your Age World Tour.
Russell has received multiple awards, including the Gemini, Peabody, Emmy, and Canadian Screen Awards for his work as a host, producer, and actor.
His TV series “The Indian Detective” set Canadian viewership records and is available on Netflix. Besides comedy, Russell is passionate about Jiu Jitsu, holding a blue belt with three stripes, and enjoys DJing and hip-hop.
