News | 12th August | Paris Olympics 2024 | New Zealand has truly shone at the Paris 2024 Olympics, achieving remarkable success across various sports. The Kiwi athletes have set a new national record by winning 10 gold medals, surpassing their previous best of eight golds at the 1984 Los Angeles Games.
Among the standout performances, Lydia Ko completed her Olympic medal collection by winning gold in women’s golf, adding to her silver from Rio 2016 and bronze from Tokyo 2020. Dame Lisa Carrington continued her dominance in kayaking, securing multiple golds in the K1 500m, K2 500m, and K4 500m events.
The Black Ferns Sevens team also made headlines by clinching gold in women’s rugby sevens, showcasing their skill and teamwork. In athletics, Hamish Kerr achieved a dramatic victory in the men’s high jump, adding another gold to New Zealand’s tally.
