New Zealand Prime Minister Hon Christopher Luxon to Boost Economic Growth in Vietnam Visit Next Week
New Zealand Prime Minister Hon Christopher Luxon will visit Vietnam next week, with stops in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. He will be joined by a group of senior New Zealand business leaders.
This visit aims to strengthen ties between the two countries, as Vietnam’s economy is growing fast and they are celebrating 50 years of diplomatic relations. Mr. Luxon wants to create more opportunities for New Zealand businesses and increase trade.
During his visit, he will meet with Vietnam’s Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and other key leaders to discuss collaboration. He will also give a speech at the ASEAN Future Forum in Hanoi.

Vietnam has great potential, especially in international education and high-quality food and beverages.
Trade between New Zealand and Vietnam has grown by 40% in the last five years. Mr. Luxon aims to reach a trade goal of US$3 billion by 2026.
This visit also marks New Zealand’s 50 years of dialogue with ASEAN. Mr. Luxon emphasized the importance of working with ASEAN for New Zealand’s future security and prosperity.
He will be accompanied by Minister of State for Trade and Investment Nicola Grigg and the business delegation.
